The brief
Pieter rides famous climbs early in the morning with a helmet camera and a friend in a chase car. The edits followed the ride minute by minute.
What we changed
We count the switchbacks on screen so viewers always know where they are, cut every stop that wasn't a view, and time the descent to the sound of the freewheel.
What happened
Videos got 3:58 shorter on average and viewers watched 22% more of them. Subscribers went from 51,000 to 92,000.
Same climbs, four minutes shorter. Nobody has asked where the four minutes went.
