Hand-rolled pasta with a Sunday ragù

A home-cooking channel that talked through every step. We let the pan do the talking and moved the recipe card to the end.

How we cut it.
Brief, changes, numbers.

The brief

Mara cooks in real time and explains as she goes. Her viewers loved her and skipped half of every video, mostly the parts where she was explaining.

What we changed

We took the narration off anything the pan could show by itself and kept her voice for the moments only she could explain. The recipe card moved to the end, where people look for it anyway. Captions carry the quantities.

What happened

Average view duration rose from 6:44 to 11:02. Comments asking for the recipe dropped, because they could find it, and the channel grew from 171,000 to 248,000 subscribers.

I film the same way I always did. The videos just stopped losing people at the shopping list.
